Tofu Pudding

Pros:

  • "The tofu pudding (first on the list) was probably their best from the assortment of desserts ordered for a warm Spring evening."
  • "Their silky tofu has the authentic taste. Just like the one back home."
  • "Savory Tofu Pudding - this is a thing. Happy I read thru some reviews before making my choice - sweet vs. savory. It was unique and satisfying - silky tofu, dried shrimp, pickled radish, fried shallots, scallions, sesame oil, and chili sauce."
  • "A lovely little shop for some soft tofu!"
  • "The tofu pudding has strong bean taste and also smooth."
  • "Best tofu pudding!!!!!! So amazing with red beans, grass jelly and taro balls."
  • "The tofu pudding is reasonably priced and flavorful (much better than MeetFresh)."

Cons:

  • "The rice cake and tofu pudding are too sweet."
  • "While I understand that everyone can have an off day, the experience I had at this tofu pudding place was unforgivable."
  • "The soybean taste was too mild, some of the taro balls had a stale &/or bitter taste."
  • "The tofu pudding was kinda firm, not as soft or smooth as I expected."
  • "The tofu pudding was a bit disappointing. The tofu did not have any taste, unlike the freshly made tofu I had when I was back home in China."
  • "Had the 'Savory tofu pudding' with everything... I didn't really enjoy the savory tofu pudding. The tofu is of course flavorless and toppings didn't taste great to me; I wouldn't order it again."
  • "The serving is stingy to the point they were scooping back some of the toppings."

Rice Cakes

Pros:

  • "Matcha and White Sugar Rice Cakes - A deliciously soft, airy, chewy texture courteous of the yeast, paired with either a fragrant sweetness of white sugar and a dash of pandan or a subtle but pleasant aromas of green tea."
  • "The rice cakes were also so special! Chewy and sweet."
  • "Love love love their steam rice cake!!"
  • "I also highly recommend their rice cakes, my favorites are the green tea and brown sugar. Very airy and fresh, a perfect afternoon snack."
  • "The rice cakes are amazing. Loved the sweet tofu pudding and I think the fresh tofu blocks for cooking is some of the best tofu I’ve ever had in NYC."
  • "The rice cakes are delicious! Yes, they are a bit sour but they are meant to be that way!"
  • "The rice cake was soft, chewy, airy and not too sticky."

Cons:

  • "The rice cakes are a tad too sweet for my taste, but still very delicious."
  • "try their 'mini coconut rice cake' which far too sweet"
  • "The rice cakes were also pretty good, but I wish the box wasn't 6 pieces – rice cakes are filling and it actually feels like a bit much."
  • "The rice cakes were quite dense, and the ginger one was basically the brown sugar but with a ginger coating."
  • "I only hope they can pack the different flavor rice cakes separately. My green tea ones married a bit with ginger ones."
  • "Rice cakes are ok and I wish they sold individual ones."
  • "Rice cake is ok."

  • "This place like a kind of discrimination we Asian ..."
  • "The service could be more welcoming, though."
  • "While I understand that everyone can have an off day, the experience I had at this tofu pudding place was unforgivable."
  • "Today there were three ppl in the counter which only one of the girl (i think she was wearing glasses) was amicable the other girl who was in charge of the register was horrible with an hostile attitude."
  • "But there is only one cashier most of time, you need at least 2 kids to run the registers."
  • "The tofu is good. The problem is the staff.."

  • "I wish the place had seating tho."
