Food Quality

Pros:

  • "Thin, crispy crust, all fresh ingredients, just perfect."
  • "The crust was the crunchiest crust I’ve had in New York."
  • "Very unique combination of flavors."
  • "The thin crust pizza was delicious."
  • "The sauces were good & ingredients tasted fresh."
  • "The delicate, crisp crust is the perfect foil to the layered flavors--each distinct and in perfect measure--to create a pie that's memorable, light and satisfying."
  • "Wonderful pizzas, very clean, light and tasty with a thin crust."

Cons:

  • "The non-vegan pizza was fine. Nothing insanely specially but good."
  • "The crust had no taste, the meats and veggies on the pizza are just generic."
  • "Red ricotta was a little off-balance, which I think had to do with trying to properly handle both cheeses."
  • "This is okay pizza. Because I make my own pizza dough, I can tell this dough isn't fresh."
  • "Pizza margarita and rice balls were bland and nothing special."
  • "There wasn't enough flavor."
  • "The pizza was dry... normally the sauce isn't baked into the middle of the pie."

Service

Pros:

  • "Service is wonderful."
  • "Great service, friendly staff."
  • "Our waitress was really nice. She gave us some suggestions on food and didn't rush us."
  • "All the servers, wait staff and hosts are great here, friendly and accommodating."
  • "Staff are cordial, sweet and attentive and the owner is also genuinely kind."
  • "Our waitress, I think her name was Mena (sorry if I got that wrong) was great and very attentive."
  • "They went out of their way to be friendly and accommodating and made our entire night."

Cons:

  • "Despite the good pizza, the bartenders at this place are the rudest, most obnoxious men I've ever encountered at a restaurant."
  • "The service was a 2 at best. The significant lack of any attention to the tables needs, beverages, plates, and removing empty plates ruined the experience."
  • "We put in our order and 20 minutes later the waitress said she forgot to out the order in."
  • "Pathetic service and lack of attention."
  • "Service lacking. Good food but won’t be back."
  • "Poor experience! I called in while walking there and the hostess told me it would be about 30 minutes for a table for two... the host rudely told me she had no tables for at least two hours."
  • "I had 3 bad experience with this place and I will never go back there, 2 times I was there I didn’t like the service at all and the owner have a bad attitude."

Atmosphere

Pros:

  • "Great vibe overall."
  • "The atmosphere was lively, small, and loud, but felt right."
  • "Cassidy was a wonderful bartender and added to the laidback, fun atmosphere!"
  • "The atmosphere was incredible, met a homeless lady outside drinking a warm coke and she begged me for a slice, met a ww2 veteran who loved the joint."
  • "Sitting outdoors in the back made me feel as if I was actually in Italy."
  • "A very v homely Cozy no nonsense place on lower East side :)"
  • "The location is central, the space is cozy and cute, with an old time feel to it."

Cons:

  • "Small place can get packed and noisy."
  • "Music is too loud and not much in the way of sound absorption, so it's difficult to hear the person across from you without shouting."
  • "When it was finally time to leave, the front of the restaurant was blocked by delivery workers."
  • "Plenty of employees standing around no greeting at front door at all."
  • "We were given a table next to the oven in the back... We inhaled a constant stream of smoke from the oven."
  • "Given the terrible environment, my dining partner wanted to leave."
  • "The restaurant itself is a nice surprise - mix of a real bar without the rowdy atmosphere, but a bustling one."

Price

Pros:

  • "It is a little pricey for a small portion pizza but it tasted so good so it was worth the price."
  • "Expensive but worth it - would go here if I'm not super hungry."
  • "Unbeatable happy hour pizza pricing, making it one of the best deals in town."
  • "A bit pricey(NY!) But worth it as a treat when you're here."
  • "Price feels a little high but the pizza is delicious."
  • "Best fried calamari hands down... awesome place great prices for the level of taste in the food."
  • "One of the best NY pizza places, which is a very subjective statement... But you get a truly delicious pie that doesn't leave you overly stuffed."

Cons:

  • "Even for the city the price is quite high."
  • "The prices relative to the portion sizes - ridiculous."
  • "The price/value/size ratio is horrible."
  • "If the edges weren't burnt mightve been a 5 star for me."
  • "To walk out of this place $75 poorer for only 2 pizzas felt a little ridiculous."
  • "A 16 inch pie was $42... The prices on their Staten Island menu are completely different from the East Village location."
  • "When the 12” vegan pizza arrived it was actually 10” which may not seem like a big deal but it was a $25 pizza!!!"
