Ambiance

Pros:

  • "Incredible ambiance and hospitality! It's like stepping through a portal and being transported to Italy."
  • "The space is also quite charming at Piacere."
  • "The restaurant itself is lovely. Industrial with low lighting and bench seating."
  • "Simple and rustic with a very welcoming vibe."
  • "The atmosphere was cool and relaxing."
  • "It's a cozy space in all the right ways, nice big tables for groups and smaller ones for two."
  • "Authentic, low-key, romantic, unassuming neighborhood spot."

Cons:

  • "It was very hot and the toilets were so dirty and disgusting."
  • "Granted we went on one of the hottest days of the year, but the table by the front window was so uncomfortably hot."
  • "It isn't a restaurant you would walk into and say 'I'm totally doing right by taking kids here.' The restaurant is a bit dark. Romantic feeling."
  • "The downfall was that there wasn't much atmosphere, it was cash only and it wasn't really an 'OMG' pizza."

Service

Pros:

  • "Friendly staff, great service."
  • "The staff was very friendly and accommodating."
  • "Staff were warm and gave some excellent suggestions."
  • "Service is exceptional and personal, I feel part of the family."
  • "The service was very efficient as well."
  • "Service is great. Staff are friendly and the food came very quickly."
  • "We had the full attention of a very nice waiter and staff."

Cons:

  • "I feel I was deceived by the waitstaff when they did not inform me that they had automatically added gratuity to my party's bill."
  • "However, the gentleman that came back to clear off our table was rude, when I made a request for bread."
  • "The minute we walked into the restaurant the owner was so rude."
  • "Waiter spilled scalding hot oil all over me and he ruined my favorite shirt and my mood for the rest of the day."
  • "Ordered through GrubHub - the owner insulted me on the phone."
  • "The waiter couldn’t be more rude with a disgusting attitude."
  • "The service is non-existent, which just makes for a dreadful experience."

Payment Options

Pros:

  • "It's cash or Amex only, but that's not a huge deal."

Cons:

  • "But I will put 3 stars because they ONLY use American Express. And that was a pain in the a** for me."
  • "Unfortunately when we asked for the check they said they didn’t accept the major credit cards except Amex."
  • "They accept cash and Amex only, they do have an ATM in the bathroom. How nice of them to skim another 3$ off the customer."
  • "Also, beware, they are one of those peculiar places not taking Visa (yep, Amex or cash only)."
  • "They only accept AMEX cards and cash."
  • "The ONLY letdown was that (like Costco) they were an AMEX or CASH operation. No lesser cards accepted here!"
  • "It is disgraceful in todays world to be so greedy that they don't want to pay credit card fees for the other cards."

Food Quality

Pros:

  • "Fantastic, authentic Italian food!"
  • "Their carbonara gluten-free pizza and their spicy oil are delicious."
  • "The food is absolutely excellent. The menu is simple and not too fancy, just bring the best of the Italian flavor."
  • "The Bottarga pasta was so awesome and different, pizza is solid."
  • "The best Italian food served outside of Italy, really. Tasteful, flavorful, excellent Italian dishes."
  • "The food is phenomenal and REALLY good vibes all around."
  • "Delicious, authentic, Italian food."

Cons:

  • "The carpaccio was bland."
  • "Pizzas are OK, kinda tasteless and they look and taste like pre-made pizzas."
  • "The octopus was not good, it was not seasoned well as some pieces were very flavorful and others were completely bland."
  • "The food is ok. No complaints but pretty much regular for the price and for being an authentic Italian restaurant."
  • "Honest review, nothing special in terms of food or service, small portions for bland tourist Italian food."
  • "We ordered a ham pizza and they literally put a finger tip size of ham on each slice."
  • "The pastas were a disgrace. Red sauce was watery, the 'guanciale' was not real guanciale."
