Cave Experience
Pros:
"It’s kind of amazing to get to stand so close to these incredible formations that are hundreds of thousands of years old."
"The tour itself is an easy walk, paved and with stairs for elevation changes."
"A really good way to explore and learn about the caves."
"The actual tour is damp, dark, and interesting."
"The underground caves are beautiful."
"The cave is very interesting and has beautiful and unusual formations."
"It's absolutely beautiful in the cave."
Cons:
"The caves aren't very long."
"Just that cave is fairly small with very few formations."
"A lot of the cave felt man made or maybe just abused from so many years/people touching."
"There was not much to see in the cave."
"The tour itself was pretty lame in my opinion, because it's not really a 'crystal' cavern per say."
"Although it is amazing, and we do enjoy nature, it was over sold. We were told about how many miles of caverns there are, but are only allowed to see maybe 50 yards of it."
"The explorable cave us very small compared to other cave systems, which is really good if you have a family."
Tour Guides
Pros:
"Our tour guide Dennis was great. He was a wealth of information and cheesy jokes."
"We had a good tour guide, he explained history of cave and how it was found and crystals formation process very well."
"Tour guide very informative and he spoke loudly and clearly enough for entire group to hear."
"The tour guide Catherine was super young! But she did a terrific job!"
"Our tour guide was super nice and knowledgeable, and the cave itself is interesting for kids and adults alike."
"The tour guide did an excellent job."
"Our tour guide Jay was the best!"
Cons:
"The tour ruined it for me. Do away with the unprofessional teenage gum chewing tour guides who spend more time comparing formations to food than talking about the actual cave."
"The only thing I didn't care for was the tour guide pointing out formations and referring to them as animals, people etc... Instead of explaining what they really are."
"The only issue I have ever had with this place was up on my last visit, we are with family and younger kids, and we as adults, feel as our tour guide was dressed inappropriately to be our tour guide in a family location."
"The guide repeated some questionable content occasionally."
"Unfortunately they still have a mask rule that it must be worn the entire time or we would of done a tour."
"The whole place is hilariously gimmicky and tours are run by guides who are almost certainly students at Kutztown University."
"Her jokes (even the ones not about dead children) were uniformly awful."
Facilities & Activities
Pros:
"Nature trail was amazing. Well groomed and not too long after your long day of cave diving."
"You can also pan for gemstones."
"Panning for gems was so much FUN!"
"They also have an ice cream parlor, mini golf, hiking trails, gem washing(well worth the money)."
"There is also an ice cream shop, mining for gems, a restaurant, a museum, mini-golf, and nature trails."
"They have the gift shop to explore, panning for gemstones, mini golf, picnic areas, and nature trails to walk on before or after your tour."
"There a hiking trail, mini golf, picnic tables."
Cons:
"The ice cream and food places were not open and in my experience the fast food is not worth it. Pack a lunch and enjoy a picnic with friends and family."
"On a Monday when we visited, the museum, ice cream shop, and restaurant were closed."
"The ice cream shop also wasn't open. So the entire day we planned to spend out there was over in an hour and a half."
"We tried to play mini golf however due to staff shortages on a Monday it was closed."
"Mini golf is a basic course good for children but it was inexplicably closed at 3 when we finished our cave tour."
"The only reason I am giving 4 stars is b/c the food spots that is at the cave is not open."
"Sad part was the food court they had on site was closed!!"
Value for Money
Pros:
"A little expensive for the size but worth a visit."
"Besides having a richly stocked gift shop the tour itself was fantastic."
"The price weren't bad and my son was free."
"A big variety of reasonably priced crystals are available in the gift shop."
"The prices are considerably fair."
"They also have snacks and souvenirs. Not expensive."
"Worth every penny."
Cons:
"Maybe, include all that in the already overpriced tour?"
"All in all, it wasn't worth the $20 per person."
"It was a little pricey all considered."
"It was overpriced $16 adults and $12 for children."
"Could be pricey with admission, gifts, icecream and the gem search."
"This is a neat experience, but it's kind of expensive."
