Value

Pros:

  • "It's okay. You truly get what you pay for. $63 for their most expensive omakase menu, tip included. So don't expect anything fantastic, just okay."
  • "While not your traditional omakase experience, they’re certainly the most valuable option in the city at they’re low prices!"
  • "I love this place! Great taste with great value!"
  • "It's about time NYC gets a price efficient alternative to the thuggish price and quality found in most of Manhattan."
  • "Sugarfish is worth the wait! The sushi is so good and the nigori sake is delicious AND inexpensive."
  • "Best value for money sushi place I have encountered in the western world."
  • "Even their priciest omakase is only ~$72, which is extremely reasonable compared to industry standards."

Cons:

  • "The rolls did not worth the price."
  • "Really don't understand the hype around this joint.... It sits in a weird place on the spectrum between mediocre lunchtime sushi spots and actual sushiyas."
  • "Quality of sushi is amazing but will only go with 4 stars because of the service."
  • "The quality of the fish is okay, but the weirdest part was the rice was too warm."
  • "HOWEVER. $10 for two small pieces of sweet shrimp (literally one piece for me, the other for the bf) was just... not really worth it for me."
  • "Some didn't even taste great."
  • "They should call this restaurant PONZUFISH instead, because they LOVE putting ponzu sauce on everything, for no reason."
