Food Quality

Pros:

  • "This place is under new ownership and is soooo delicious and very fresh."
  • "Guacamole, delish."
  • "But brisket nachos was so delish because it had guacamole, onions, sour cream, cheese, and more importantly, brisket in sauce over nachos that just makes you want to eat more."
  • "Tasty, flavorful food made fresh every meal."
  • "Authentic food, phenomenal flavor, Real food, Real flavor!"
  • "The different toppings for each taco really helped bring out the flavors too."
  • "The tofu tacos are delicious, the chips and salsa are as well!"

Cons:

  • "Another Beacon favorite that has declined in quality. Portions decreased while prices increase a lot."
  • "I got pico de gallo once that tasted like it was fermenting."
  • "The tortillas were pretty much inedible — wet and soggy."
  • "The BBQ brisket taco was drowned in sauce."
  • "A lot of the food made me feel bad afterwards, not in a “I just ate something unhealthy” way but in a “I just ate something that might have botulism” way."
  • "All entrees consisted of mainly a rice and bean mush that was awful, and very sparse in protein."
  • "The tofu in the tacos was plain, deep fried, and tiny."

Service

Pros:

  • "Great food! Great service! Ordered through Door Dash, food arrived hot and before the estimated time."
  • "Super friendly, great tacos, awesome experience."
  • "Staff was great and service was super fast."
  • "Also friendly and prompt staff."
  • "Staff is so kind and patient."
  • "The cashier was super nice, friendly, and patient, and she made sure to get my order correct."
  • "The staff is always very courteous."

Cons:

  • "The food is good but the servers just sit there on their phone while your order comes out wrong."
  • "We ordered a bowl and a Cuban sandwich and waited 35 minutes for our food."
  • "Good food but young lady at the cashier is not very friendly."
  • "Attitudes from the 2 ladies working here on this day were 'couldn't care less'."
  • "It appears that there is a severe lack of training from management or that the employee behind the counter is completely unconcerned."
  • "Sometimes the wait is long... I'd ask how long until your food is served while ordering."
  • "Waited 35+ minutes for our food."

Atmosphere

Pros:

  • "I also liked the Día de Muertos style art on the walls – it was just nice to look at during quiet moments in conversations."
  • "The art inside the store is beautiful and the outdoor seething area is quite spacious and great for people with pets."
  • "Great indoor and outdoor spaces that really capture the spirit and spunkiness of the town."
  • "Great atmosphere."
  • "The atmosphere was awesome!"
  • "Funky shop with cool decor."
  • "Super cool atmosphere - indoors and out."

Cons:

  • "Their bathroom was disgusting from what I could see because their light was not working."
  • "In addition to that, the bathroom smelled overwhelmingly of urine."
  • "The atmosphere was off and it just seemed to have a really weird vibe."
  • "You can see all of the dirty dishes in the back when you go to the bathroom, full of old food and it looks and smells dirty, the floor in the back was caked in dirt a few times and the bathroom is a cesspool."
  • "Its a tourist spot because of the mural, but the walls are dirty and the floor has black grease in all the corners and the bottoms of the walls."
  • "I saw an employee open the hallway fridge and nothing inside had any sort of labeling or date, and it had a fish smell, and was visibly caked in old food, raw meat was on shelves above uncovered cooked food and it was dripping."
  • "Extremely dirty hotbar too, floor was nasty."

Value

Pros:

  • "$2 taco Tuesdays are a must to as well."
  • "They offer a traditional Mexican food with a special twist at a reasonable price and it’s totally worth it."
  • "Their prices are very cost friendly."
  • "Prices are also very reasonable."
  • "Great prices."
  • "The food is always fresh and delicious and flavorful."
  • "The food here is great and so are the prices."

Cons:

  • "If you want to spend NYC prices on tiny, extremely mediocre tacos that are somehow excused by ‘the cute decor’ then this is the perfect place for you."
  • "Go anywhere else for tacos, Tito Santana Taqueria is not the cheapest place for a meal in Beacon."
  • "They do have a nice selection of drinks and alcohol but are overpriced."
  • "The prices increase ($17 for a rather small, unremarkable chicken burrito), but the food never improves."
  • "The cost of our three burritos and an order of empanadas was almost $70."
  • "EXTREMELY overpriced for what little you get... $4 for a taco that was more vegetable than anything."
  • "Food is very expensive 4 to 5$ for a small taco."
