Concessions and Pricing

Pros:

  • "10 out of 10 would recommend seeing a show here."
  • "The Forest Theatre was nice enough to honor our tickets on the next day."
  • "Just saw Hamilton Oct 8 and it was fabulous!!! The cast was awesome!!!!"
  • "Would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a nice night out on the town!"
  • "However, the people were very nice and noticed I was having difficulty and immediately offered more convenient seating."
  • "At intermission, don't forget that while the smaller upstairs bathrooms always have a line, the lounge downstairs in the lower level has larger restrooms that are almost always no-wait."
  • "We went to go see Hamilton, which was great! I'm actually not a play person, but I was glad with the results."

Cons:

  • "Also the drinks are a tab bit over priced; $40 for a bottle of water and Jameson on the rocks, including tip."
  • "The prices of the concessions were insane ($60 for two drinks at the bar...) and the seats were incredibly tight."
  • "I'll definitely avoid paying $40 for 2 small cups of Barefoot cabernet and a Hershey bar. Exploitative and unnecessary pricing at best."
  • "Concessions are extremely overpriced and not worth the money. A sprite, jack & coke, & a box of sour patch kids cost $44!"
  • "For a vodka and soda and a box of sour patch kids to cost almost $40 without tip is just absurd."
  • "The drinks were $30.00 EACH!!!!!! of which you did not know until they gave you a $90.00 bill for 3 drinks!!!!"
  • "A beer and cocktail cost me $44 plus tip, WTF?!"

Show Experience

Pros:

  • "I’ve seen some truly amazing touring productions over the years at this magmatic gem of a venue."

  • "Shows are good quality but the comfort level really ruins it."
  • "What an amazing musical. You must see Dear Evan Hansen! The Forrest Theatre did such an amazing job."
  • "The play The Girl From The North Country was riveting, with both memorable performances and musical numbers."

Cons:

  • "Saw Hamilton last night was very unhappy with poor sound quality for the first 3 or 4 numbers till they adjusted the sound."
  • "The main issue with this beautifully appointed theater, is the placement of the speakers."
  • "However the sound system is not very satisfying. Mic sometimes not working properly."
  • "Someone working in the back row was snapping pictures every few seconds. It was extremely disturbing."
  • "We missed the first part of the play because of the noise of people still trying to find their seats."
  • "This was the most unprofessional, incompetent excuse for a 'professional' theater performance I have ever seen. Everyone in the audience should get their money back. Shame on everyone who works at this 'theater.'"
  • "Directed to the wrong seats then when we went up to the mezzanine waiting to be directed to our seats she passed right by us lights went out no directions at all we weren’t late."
