Food Quality

Pros:

  • "The burrata was the highlight of the appetizers we selected."
  • "Food, simple and fantastic."
  • "Food was so good, roasted mushroom appetizer, focaccia bread with peppers, and pastas, spaghetti with chilis and parmigiano and pici cacio pepe."
  • "The pastas are homemade and impeccably delicious."
  • "The beet + watermelon salad is unbelievably good and I never order beets but theirs are just soo sweet and amazing."
  • "The pastas are indisputably delicious, especially the mushroom ragu."
  • "The food was delicious, everything was fresh and seasoned to perfection."

Cons:

  • "Sides: bad - the pea leaves were way too lemony."
  • "The starter and mains itself were pleasant enough but honestly nothing to write home about."
  • "Why put scallions in a pasta??"
  • "Pasta was great but just a *tad* bit on the oily side."
  • "I found the pasta too salty."
  • "Food: not worth the price point. Their food has gone downhill."
  • "All the dishes lacked flavor. Couldn’t really taste the Calabria chili at all in the pasta dish."

Service

Pros:

  • "Service was very nice and attentive."
  • "Really delicious homemade pasta and our server was fantastic: attentive and prompt even though the restaurant was extremely busy."
  • "The staff was helpful and nice."
  • "Service outstanding, food fantastic."
  • "Service: great and attentive."
  • "Service was some of the best I’ve experienced."
  • "The service was amazing. The staff is kind and friendly, they all made us feel at home."

Cons:

  • "We arrived 11 minutes after our reservation and there was someone in front of us in line... When it was our time we were told 'we hold tables for 15 minutes and you weren’t here so it’s been given away.'"
  • "Started with about a 30 minute wait for our reservation."
  • "The reservation process for this place is utterly insane. They open at 9 am something like two weeks in advance... ALL reservations were gone in under 40 seconds."
  • "While the food was neither exceptional nor terrible, the service was the worst among the restaurants I visited in New York."
  • "Service was also .. questionable."
  • "Service was a little slow, but it was very crowded on a Saturday night."
  • "Service: terrible. Our waitress, whose name I don’t know, came to our table maybe 3 times and spoke 10 words."

Ambiance

Pros:

  • "The ambiance is next level."
  • "Atmosphere is bustling."
  • "A great ambience due to the combination of authentic Italian and authentic New York."
  • "Amazing atmosphere and very busy!"
  • "Beautiful decor and would recommend you sit on the upper floor, so you can see the sun naturally into the restaurant."
  • "Cozy and lively ambience with solid service."
  • "The atmosphere is good, not too loud, cocktails on point not too sweet."

Cons:

  • "It is very cold to dine outside though."
  • "REALLY disappointed. My cousin who lives in NY had a similar experience and agreed the food is overhyped."
  • "However, the squid ink and branzino were missing that 'wow' factor introduced with the appetizer."
  • "The other part that just can’t be avoided is waiting even though you have a reservation."
  • "The restaurant was a little too loud and seats were too crowded, not a very pleasant dining environment."
  • "What was a dealbreaker from going back was the amount of noise. Tables were extremely crowded and packed and the echo of loud conversation was unbearable."
  • "The patio area they offer is bizarre, it's kept decently warm which is great but the lack of music creates a strange atmosphere."

  • "For starters, the way to get a reservation is to stay up until midnight to make a reservation a month in advance."

Cons:

  • "Hard to get a table, so I resorted to walking in at 5:30."
