Food Quality

  • "The homemade pasta was delectable and scrumptious."

  • "The best shrimp I have ever eaten. So fresh, so flavorful, meaty, and with a slight hint of the sea."
  • "The food was delightful, authentic and made with sincere love."
  • "Absolutely delicious homemade pasta."

Cons:

  • "Very expensive meat and cheese tasting was underwhelming."
  • "Two out of seven orders were wrong, and one came 10 minutes after the other food."
  • "The grilled artichoke appetizer were canned artichokes on bread, the Cacio e pepe was drowning in a clumpy sauce and the gelato was gritty and tasteless."
  • "The truffle pasta was bland in taste."
  • "The $38 lobster bisque pasta was incredibly bland, watery, and genuinely unpleasant."
  • "The truffle Gnocchi was glamorized Mac and cheese with minimal truffle and the entrees were even worse… the black cod was inedible and the ribeye was grizzly and tough."
  • "The pasta with lobster bisque and crab was a bit disappointing. I wish the crab was more lumpy and the sauce was one-note and too salty."

Wine Selection

  • "The wine list is extensive, and also on the pricey side. They don't have many bottles under 55$."
  • "We had no idea it was an outrageously expensive bottle that would bring our bill that high."
  • "Very tasty and fruity wine, my only issue is that natural wines carry a lot of sediment and should be decanted."
  • "The wine choice can be tricky (it changes a lot, so most things don't seem to be on the menu)."
  • "The wine was interesting, to say the least."

Atmosphere

Pros:

  • "Such a cute interior, then the outdoor patio with cover has magical plants and lights."
  • "Cozy, romantic place, excellent food and pastas."
  • "The atmosphere is local awesomeness and feels like a village restaurant tucked away in Italy."

  • "The place has a lovely atmosphere that transports you to Italy but it's crowded."
  • "It's like a slice of Italy. It's small and quaint but worth the awkward moment you walk by someone's table."
  • "However, the tables for 2 are tiny — we had the round table and there was really not enough space for 2 people dining."
  • "The back patio area was SO cramped - I suppose they are trying to fit as many tables in as possible, but it was really uncomfortable and claustrophobic."
  • "Some inside tables by the bar/entry hall felt really claustrophobic."

  • "We were very disappointed with the extremely slow service."
  • "Waited 30 minutes sitting down just for anyone to approach us."
  • "No one passed to inquire if we wanted more wine."

Value

Pros:

  • "These dishes would be way more expensive in Manhattan!"
  • "Menu prices were reasonable, I thought."
  • "It’s not cheap but comparable to Provini and Al dí la."
  • "The only reason it’s not 5 stars is because I feel like the pasta should be $6-$10 cheaper."
  • "You will not find a better Italian restaurant with homemade pasta in this area or even Brooklyn for that matter."
  • "Everything was amazing. I ate so much but didn't feel sick and it's probably because it's good quality ingredients."
  • "The food is as good as it gets, it's the best Italian food I have had in America."

Cons:

  • "But when you pay this much for food, you expect to at least have your plates cleared before the leftovers have time to harden."
  • "The food was an absolute rip off."
  • "Overall I would maybe stop in for a glass of wine but would never come back here for the food."
  • "When the bill came the appetizer special was $46 and the (not that) special pasta $40! No wonder the waiter didn’t say the prices for the specials! Beware!!"
  • "Our bills was $400 for 3 people... The meal was certainly not worth $400 and we wish we weren't tricked into drinking wine we didn't ask for."
  • "While I’d seen that this place was expensive, I was happy to pay the hefty $40 (vegetarian) pasta dishes if it meant I was getting a phenomenal meal. Instead, I got what I think had $15 value."
  • "What killed me was when I asked for some bread as we had none at our table - you know, as they do in Italian restaurants with olive oil and such? - We were told there was a $2 charge for this."
