Park Facilities

Pros:

  • "Restrooms are available and clean."
  • "The park is always immaculate. Restrooms are very well maintained."
  • "A very nice place for all ages lots of rest rooms A+ and they are very nice and clean water and bottle filling stations."
  • "The facilities are clean and there's ample parking."
  • "The park is meticulous and provides plenty of garbage and recycling bins throughout the park."
  • "Playground for kids. Restrooms are available and clean."
  • "Beautiful park with living farm with cows, horses, sheep, pigs, and chickens."

Cons:

  • "Also, if you are a Verizon Wireless customer, you will have little to no signal here and there is no wifi."
  • "Trails are well maintained, but not as well marked as other parks."
  • "Something does not feel right about this park. The slides are made from a plastic.... but as my kids were using the slides.. literally every time as I was touching the slide, the hair on my whole arm literally stuck up like when touching a static electricity ball."
  • "I'm not one to speak in a negative tone and I love the Monmouth County parks. This is more of an informational post. I went today to the Ramanessin side for the first time ever. The entire place was covered in poison ivy."
  • "The only reason I can't give 5 stars is because there's not a bathroom near the upper playground."
  • "Lovely park but the bathroom needs a clean up and whats with the toilet paper dispenser being below the rim of the toilet bowl?"
  • "I'd give this park 5 stars since it's pretty but I'll give one for the aggressive and rude park Ranger."

Recreational Activities

Pros:

  • "This park is great for a big family gatherings or even just a solo stroll through the woods."
  • "During the winter, when conditions permit, there is a huge sledding hill (which is groomed by the park staff) and even ice skating."
  • "With a farm, 2 playgrounds, trails, forest, pond, sitting areas and lots of open field there is sooooo much you can do there."
  • "It’s a fun way to spend the day with family and friends and perhaps learn some history along the way."
  • "Great trails great for strollers or other walking devices if needed."
  • "The best feature is the colonial farm where you are free to roam and they often have special events, storytelling, sheep shearing etc."
  • "They have an ice skating pond, a section to sleigh ride, 10 miles of trails, a workout station."

Cons:

  • "There are two dirt paths on either side of the sledding hill for walking back up, but many people chose to ignore this, causing trouble for those sledding down."
  • "Bicycling is very limited and walking paved loop can be crowded on a nice day."
  • "It also gets crowded on the main path which makes it harder to social distance."
  • "Cow milking was in 3 pm so we couldn't see it."
  • "The shear number of people that go here, many of which can be rude and don't care what their kids are doing."
  • "Just becareful of the porta potty's though not the most taken care of things so ....just go before you go kinda deals."
  • "However, when you take into account the many harmful tragedies that occur nowadays, it would be wise for those in charge to seriously consider placing security cameras throughout the grounds."

Cons:

  • "Also connects to bayonet farms but is a little tricky to navigate there."
  • "I wish they had better signage in the gated area where there is a bunch of different cool trees."
  • "Always plenty of parking, but not always in the area we want to visit."
