Food Quality

Pros:

  • "The cucumber salad with yuzu dressing was also excellently balanced."
  • "The broth was so flavorful and at the right temperature."
  • "We ate Tonkotsu and it was superb."
  • "Sapporo Miso Ramen comes with very tasty broth."
  • "The broth was super silky and flavorful."
  • "The fried chicken an fried squid were fresh and so yummy."
  • "Ramen is great here, broth is tasty and has a lot of flavors while the noodle is real ramen and not instant noodle."

Cons:

  • "The food itself was mediocre. It is certainly not authentic."
  • "If you’re hungry for something that looks and tastes 80% of Japanese food this place will do."
  • "Ramen becomes a trendy food these days. But not each ramen restaurant created equal. This one is bad even to a group of hungry people in a cold night: poorly made noodles (not boiled enough), not enough broth in each bowl (my neighboring people almost eating dry noodles with hot sauce), salty broth (my 7 yr old kid complaining about it) and most offending is poor service."
  • "The ramen was good but when i ordered extra pieces of pork... it was cold."
  • "Everything is too salty so I couldn’t even finish the dishes."
  • "The pork was thick and dry."
  • "But broth is oily and unflavorful, and they serve the thinnest meat I’ve ever seen in a ramen."

Service

Pros:

  • "Service was great and we received our orders very fast."
  • "Service was quick and they are very friendly."
  • "Visited NYC over the holidays this year. We had eight people (seven from SE Asia), and all ordered various ramens. Bottom line was high marks all-around, with fast service."
  • "One thing worth mentioning is the prompt service we received as soon as we arrived."
  • "Delicious!!! Food came super quickly and the staff are super friendly."
  • "Quick and friendly service."
  • "Service was friendly and prompt without feeling rushed."

Cons:

  • "Service was good but them getting slow when they are busy."
  • "Horrible customer service."
  • "Staff could do with some training on how to smile and deal with their customers."
  • "Very good food but I take 1 point off due to the (Thai?) lady...being impatient and overall unpleasant."
  • "The service, needless to say, was horrible."
  • "Poor customer service. Would not recommend at all."
  • "The service is dismissive."

Price and Value

Pros:

  • "The prices are fair for a ramen shop in Manhattan."
  • "It's also very affordable, especially for the area."
  • "Prices were reasonable for a good bowl of ramen in my opinion."
  • "Very reasonable Price given the quality!"
  • "They have a good lunch special with some bowls of ramen for $10."
  • "Appreciate the low markup on beverages and prepackaged treats."
  • "Good portion, attentive service."

Cons:

  • "At 15 dollars a bowl worth traveling for better options."
  • "A 20% gratuity was automatically added to our bill even though we had a party of 4 people."
  • "Food was good, service was good but the only big problem for me is that they charge you gratuity automatically without ask you."
  • "15$ for a noodle soup in my mind is just way more than it should cost."
  • "The salmon handroll which honestly was not worth the price ($7)."
  • "It was loud and super busy."
  • "Expensive, mediocre flavor, small portions."

Ambiance and Space

Pros:

  • "Loved this place - cozy small restaurant with excellent food."

  • "Compact spot with huge flavor, attentive service, and a great vibe."

Cons:

  • "It's a pretty small place that feels a little cramped but it's good for a quick bite."
  • "Enjoyed some great ramen with a friend traveling from out of state. While we did get to enjoy some great food, unfortunately there weren't that many seats for us to sit comfortably."
  • "The restaurant is small but efficient with its seating options."
  • "Know that the place is small, but it fits a good amount of people."
  • "Very very small space."
  • "You could easily walk by it on the street if you weren't looking for it and could easily be turned off by the tight seating area once inside."
  • "The place is too damn small."
