Atmosphere & Ambience

Pros:

  • "Amazing atmosphere, we went on Saturday night and there was live piano and opera - amazing."
  • "The place was cosy and decorated for the season (we were around in late January to little hearts and rosy tinsel) and the live piano made for a very romantic atmosphere."
  • "It is also a lively place with live music and singing."
  • "Live singers who come to your table to ask for any special songs you may wish to hear."
  • "The atmosphere was great, very upscale and they even had opera singers to entertain."
  • "The atmosphere is quiet but warm."
  • "The atmosphere is very nice making me feel like in ‘God Father’ movie."

Cons:

  • "The decor and ambience is pretty dated and stuffy."
  • "But lots of screaming drunk middle-aged white businessmen ruin the atmosphere."
  • "The music choice was a little odd for the decor though, sounded like a combination of country and rock!"
  • "It's clear that Rossini's is an oblivious relic, content to cater to its crowd of gullible tourists and aging taste-budless bingo players with its staff of arrogant hacks."

Service

Pros:

  • "The service was exceptional and the food was fantastic."
  • "The service went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and the food was amazing."
  • "Very professional and friendly service."
  • "Staff was friendly and attentive."
  • "The service here is simply impeccable and as good or better than some Michelin Star restaurants."
  • "The attentive staff is well heeled and make you feel very welcomed."
  • "Staff really know proper table service."

Cons:

  • "The bartender was more interested in chatting and drinking with her regulars than taking care of me."
  • "If you show up an hour before closing you will not get good service."
  • "The server was in a rush making our first visit there not so pleasant."
  • "Service was slow."
  • "We had a waiter with a horrible attitude that ruined the experience."
  • "Then, we were not provided a wine menu because wine was listed 'per bottle' so somehow we appeared as people that wouldn’t order a bottle."
  • "Waiters were almost combative when I pushed back and asked for explanation."

Food Quality

Pros:

  • "Delicious homemade pasta, Osso buco, seafood and lamb."
  • "The food is amazing (and always comes out pretty quick)."
  • "The food is outstanding."
  • "The best Fettuccine Alfredo I've ever had and my partner's Seafood Pasta had so much seafood that we couldn't see the mound of pasta underneath."
  • "The culinary experience at this restaurant is nothing short of extraordinary, with each dish bursting with unforgettable flavors."
  • "The food is superb."
  • "The food is as if you were in Italy."

Cons:

  • "Avoid this place, the food is not great and the portions are small and is very overpriced."
  • "The pesto was not good. The basil was dark and bitter, not fresh as it should be."
  • "While the food can be a little inconsistent with quality and taste, I think that's what makes it authentic."
  • "The toppings were DISGUSTING--stale and smelly 'meatballs' and 'sausages' indistinguishable from each other or from very old turds."
  • "Fish was neither fresh nor properly prepared."
  • "The food was cold and poor."
  • "Got spaghetti w olive oil and cracked pepper. Not right!"

Value

Pros:

  • "Not cheap yet worth the visit."
  • "Expensive, but worth the splurge."
  • "And while not cheap, considering the quality of the food and service, the prices are moderate for the neighborhood."
  • "Food was incredible, service gracious, bill reasonable."
  • "Booked a table for 8, smooth reservation process. Great value."

Cons:

  • "You pay for the ambiance and the white table cloth experience."
  • "The price is a little high though."
  • "Paid over $350 for 2 for good Italian food but certainly nothing special."
  • "A little over priced by the portion size."
  • "The prices are on the high side."
  • "The soup was really nice but none of the other dishes was exceptionally good or large, so it seemed overpriced and not worth it."
